SpeedDate.com recently made some findings on how people are choosing to date when considering differences in ethnicity. You can review their findings in detail here: SpeedDate.com Study On Dating Preferences.
One of their findings was that more women than men prefer to date people in their own ethnicity.
However, people in what are considered minority groups were more likely to date other ethnicities when compared to Caucasian people.
Interestingly, Asian males came in as the second least likely to date outside of their ethnic group.
And if you’ve ever done speed dating, you know that it’s all about the first impression. In some ways, the reactions that happen during speed dating are some of the most pure ways to really learn about what people want.
The less time you have to think about something, the more honest your response tends to be, don’t you think? And it’s been said that when you first meet someone, you’ve instantly decided whether you would have anything intimate with that person. Chances are that you will want to date someone in your ethnic group because it’s what immediately seems right to you. Before you’ve spoken to the person and made a deeper connection, you mainly respond from your biological urges.
Your immediate attraction is based on what is sitting right in front of you. When you see good teeth, shiny hair, great skin, and other indicators of good health, your body tells you right away that yes, this is a suitable partner…for mating!
Your reactions to the people you meet are totally normal. But as you know, the more you get to know someone, the more it is possible your feelings can change, especially if you were not immediately physically attracted.
Now imagine meeting someone who attracts you immediately and makes you stay around longer than one or two dates? It’s definitely possible to meet someone that you still like just as much as the first time you met.
